The year is drawing to an end and we have some very exciting news for you. We have been able to move forward to make several enhancements in MoneyMinder. You’ll see these improvements rolled out over the next three months. Here are some you can look forward to before the end of the year…
A small enhancement for you:
- We are adding “Previous/ Next” to the top of all your register pages so that you can navigate faster
A medium enhancement for you:
- You will be able to move the order of your registers around on the Home Page and be able to hide registers you have not used in this calendar year.
A large enhancement for you (which we are VERY excited about!):
- Starting in January, you may download transactions from your bank into a file on your computer and then import these transactions into MoneyMinder. You will then be able to confirm these transactions (edit/ delete/ split them as you like) and move them into your register. This will cut down on the amount of time you spend tracking, so you may focus more on planning and adjusting. Rest assured, though, if you want to continue manually tracking, you may do so.
Next year we will keep rolling out changes, such as a “Search” function for your registers (you will see this in effect by February).
So… stay tuned for updates! We’ve come a long way from the paper and pencil version developed by Karen in 1988 and are grateful for your patience as we transform the Money Minder into an even more powerful tool.
Hooray! Thanks for making these improvements. Have you seen YNAB? They have some excellent features that would be great to see in MM incorporated in the future also. Happy 2016 to you!
Hi Tamara! As a member of the MM team, we’re all super excited too! We have been researching YNAB, as well as other money management software to help us give you (and us) the best experience using MM. Thanks for your input.
This is soo great!!! Will the “search” feature, mentioned above, be available Feb, 2016 or Feb, 2017?
Hey Piney! This change is for 2016. :)!
Thanks for the info. I personally like manual tracking as it makes me more mindful of spending. This has been my first year with MM and I’m looking forward to planning 2016 using the tools for the first time. I’m noticing what a slow process it is to be better with money, I’m hoping it is working in ways I can’t yet see! As I work for myself the biggest issue is saving for tax bills and not dipping into it. It requires self discipline I don’t yet have. But MM is definitely helping me feel more in charge, thanks for a great product!
What file format is required for MM to read when downloaded from my FI? .QFX or .OFX?
Hey Tyler! QFX or sometimes called Quicken is the file type. Let us know how it goes, we’re all loving the new feature! – Rachel, MoneyMinder Team Member

I would like to buy the MM special offer from Karen McCall email. it closes at 9pm pst, so please advise,
BUT what is the requirement on Apple Mac to be compatible.?
What is the lowest version of an Apple Mac that will take MM?This laptop is 10.9.5 Would it work with MM as is, or does it need Quicken?
i.e. Do I need to download Quicken first? if so is a current v. of Qucken compatible with Mac 10.9.5 ?
Thx, Cha
Hey Cha – The software is hosted online, so there are no hardware or computer requirements — as long as you can access the internet, you can access MoneyMinderOnline. You do not need Quicken at all. Also, the deadline was last night at 9pm PST. Thanks for your question and sorry to deliver bad news! – Rachel, From the MoneyMinder Team
